That's the thing, exactly!! We humans absolutely don't get "what we need" every day in terms RDAs, food pyramids etcetera. I spend more time worrying about the "delicate" balance of my dogs' nutrition than my own...when in reality, I've come to think that perhaps it's not all that delicate. That maybe they're more like us - in that, we try to eat pretty healthy, eat fresh when possible, take some vitamins, get some exercise - and *voila* - pretty good health. It really is frustrating - and I'd sure love to see some definitive info on whether the ca/phos ratio is really that delicate - or that a wider ratio of error is perfectly fine....argh.
