They will automatically recommend Science Diet because they sell it and don't know a thing about nutrition. My dog has reactions to one or two foods. Depending on what is in the food you are giving now, I would change foods and not give those ingredients (especially corn and wheat). It might take 60 days to notice an itching difference while the body cleanses itself. The Benadryl is fine. I would be hesitant to use Z/D because this isn't necessary. There are three forms of Z/D and two of them have propyl Gallate, BHA and ethoxyquin.
