My sister passed on to me, her perfect (everytime) way to cook rice. Standard measurements - 2:1. Cook in microwave - 5 minutes on full power, 15 minutes on half power. I have never had it fail yet!

Also, for ease in cleaning up sticky rice pans (for that matter, potato, pasta, gravies, anything with starchy bases) soak in COLD water for a few mintues. Most pans will then clean up with almost no effort. The cold water breaks down the starches, hot water continues to cook the starches and makes a pan harder to clean. Another benefit to the cold water vs. hot - it's much easier on hands.

Try the cold water thing - it really does work - even with scrambled eggs!
