In regards to the older dogs on
www.petfinder.com, over the past month or so I have personally written letters to every single Yorkie rescue currently advertising all Yorkies and Yorkie mixes ... especially the older ones.
I have been rejected for the following reasons, which breaks my heart because I have such a wonderful home to offer with unlimited vet services:
* My location
* The fact that I have a child
* They don't ship their dogs by air
* The adoption fee is unaffordable for me (in addition to shipping costs)
