wow, this is very scary. see...i am a FREAK when it comes to letting my dogs eat stuff. when we go for walks, I am not one to let them sniff everything we pass...and DEFINITELY don't let them eat anything. DH is always saying "they are dogs...let them do what dog's do naturally". I tell him that there is no telling what they could get into off the ground. now..the sniffing...maybe I should let them sniff. but when I walk, I do it for exercise...and if we are stopping every 5 feet to "sniff"...we are not accomplishing anything.
I am so sorry for your loss. that is a very sad thing. as sad as it is, I hope your story will help others understand the dangers of letting our dogs eat things off the ground. you just NEVER know.
