I've not found that to be true about tubefeeding. It gives them instant nutrition without them expelling the energy. They'll get stronger to eat day by day. It doesn't sound like she's nursing now anyways. I put mine on the teat before their feeding just to let them try (one I may put her/him on a few of times a day if I decide). Then a pup could be at the point that they're not with mom at all but in a warming box (esp. in a big litter). In my experience (only), pups can recover pretty well unless somethings wrong.
