I'm not sure what you're referring to about me letting it grow out- the only yorkie I have is my yorkie/crested mix and she's had her face groomed short ever since two weeks after I got her, and that was over a year ago! It was cute but I didn't like that scruffy look. I do my own grooming for my other dogs too so it's easy for me.
Just a personal preference! I was just making a comment that I wondered why more people didn't groom them that way, that's all.
Yorkies are a long-coated breed. A lot of people choose to keep their bodies shorter with the face trimmed in a "teddy bear" face while others leave them in full coat. I don't know too many people that would actually completely shave a yorkie's face...they lose that "yorkie" look. I think yorkies look much more elegant with long hair than they would with a shaved face.
