He's got to get into an obedience class in January but I'm so confused which route to take, so many different choices.
Another thing I'm curious about...if I get him a harness, does it stay on at all times? He jumps and squirms when his collar goes on him and it would be a fight putting a harness on and taking it off a few times a day.
Thanks for any help. |
Well I would not use anything around a yorkies neck.. I use a harness and also took a 1.7 pound yorkie to class, they wanted a collar also, I said no.. simples as that, he is your dog..
also scar tactic's could have a affect on him the rest of his life.. I have this tiny now at 3.5 that was attacked by another yorkie.. he has not gotten over it and that was 4 years ago.. when traumatic things happen to these guys, it is never to be forgotten.. so think hard on which you decide..
I am sure other will say I am correct in saying this..like an abused yorkie, that never lets you pet his head, even if you have him for 12 years of his life and he loves you, it he was hit in the head, he never gets over this..
You need to protect him to now end.. and also you need to learn to let him know you are the alfa dog.. I get a kick out of people who say oh the dog will not let me do this or that.. hello, you are the roll model... and this does not have to be beaten into a yorkie neither...
