Gez, I don't know what got into me. I don't write poems I guess just having a rough week and knowing that everyday when I come home these little ones are always so happy to see me - no matter what! It doesn't matter what I did or didn't do that day - they're both laying down on the bench in the window just waiting for me to pull up. I get out of the car and Max sits up... I wave... and he starts barking "Mom's home - Mom's home" "Yea - Mom's home!!" And if it takes me just a little too long to get to the door... he's back up on the bench looking to see what's going on. Mia's right there - but she's the quiet one. When I finally get the door open, Max is doing flips (well almost) and Mia is quietly wiggling her little body so fast that I'm sure she could keep up with a hummingbird. I have to get kisses from both of them and then walk them to the back door to let them out. This is the only time that Mia enforces her "Alpha Dog" status. She insists on being the first one out the door! Then, when Max does come out she barks and chases him. It's soo funny. After that, Max is free to torment her. He head butts her, takes her treats (and his too), he leans on her and kisses her mouth until she can't take it anymore! He loves her sooo much - it just amazes me. If she's in the bathroom getting a bath - he waits outside the door until she comes out... and if it's taking too long he lets me know he's waiting for her. If I take too long grooming her - he tries to jump up to the counter top or literally digs at the back of my legs. I'm soo lucky to have these two...
