Lucky and Lexie at times will take the mouthfull of food from their dish and carry it somewhere else to eat it. They do it for a mouthful or two, then finish at the dish.
But....is this normal?...........
When Lexie had her puppies, I fed her a mixture of dry and canned food or alternated between the two types. I noticed during this time that every now and then she would use her nose and push at the food until is was mostly all in one spot in the dish and pretty much pressed against the side or bottom of the bowl, then she'd usually leave it for a while. To me,this looked like it made it more difficult for her to get a good bite of, so I'd usually stir it up again to loosen it up. For the life of me, I could not figure out WHY she did that. She never did it til after she had her puppies and except for once or twice, I haven't seen her do it again since she finished nursing them. So, hmmmm.....is this normal, or a weird quirk of hers? |
