Luvmypet. I haven't read through any of the posts so I appologize if this is repetative. Both my Jersey and Bella get itchy. It has nothing to do with food (Atleast for them). I had them both to the vet and they suffer from allergies. Environmenta meaing airbourne just as we do from Pollen etc. Both Jersey and Bella have the same daddy so this is hereditory. For Bella it occures in Augst, September and October and she gets a shot of predisone each month for those three months and is fine. Jersey is another story. She gets itchy but not necessarily during that time. It's sporatic. We are also now having an issue with couphing. After, a $300 vet bill yesterday to make sure that it was not a collapsing trachea, she is now on an antibiotic to be sure it's not an infection of some sort but his best guess is that it's her allergies kicking up. Another way to know if you dog has allergies is the ears. Not always but most of the time you dog will have a lot of wax, black wax in their ears. You almost want to think they may have ear mites, but it's not. The allergies produce a lot of wax build up. I hope this helps you.
