Default Overdose?

Has this ever happened to your pup? My 10 mth. Yorkie, Rowdy, was having his normal rowdy day two days ago when all of sudden I noticed he couldn't stand. He was staggering and falling. He tried to play, he even ate but he still couldn't stand up. After a few minutes, he started to walk a little better, but after I held him for about five minutes and let him down, he still staggered. I called the vet who went through a number of scenarios that could have happened such as: a lick to his head, eating rotten garbage. etc. He thought maybe his blood sugar may have dropped because by then he was shaking when I held him. So I gave him some maple syrup. He seemed to be starving this whole time, he ate all his food and all his sisters food plus the syrup. After about 30 minutes, he started vomiting. I never knew a little 4 pound guy could vomit that much. He had no control over it. After that, which only lasted two or three minutes at the most, he feel asleep. I sleep with him on the couch so I could monitor him. When he woke up the next morning, all was fine and still is. He wasn't dehydrated or had any after effects. I can't imagine what happened. I had a lot of company over the holidays and I'm wondering if someone dropped a pill or something and he just found it and ate it. I called the vet back to tell him about the vomiting and him being better. He didn't have an answer. Any ideas?
