I'd be much more concerned about placing a puppy in a home where the previous dog was allowed outside ALONE in an UNFENCED yard than the owners working all day. I'm not a breeder, but if I was I would never place a dog in a home where I knew that the person let their dog outside offleash in a nonenclosed area & leaving them outside unattended period is just not a good idea.
