That's what I thought as well. But sadly, as I, initially, read over the internet and then the adoption manager confirmed for me, they do euthanize the sick animals.

They will only adopt out animals in good health and those animals will not be euthanized.
Poor Winston was scheduled to be put down the day after I found out about him.
I still don't understand why the woman on the phone initially lied to me about it.

Perhaps, she didn't know either?
