Try putting a lightweight blanket over the crate....so it is dark inside.....I read somewhere that this will make them secure and less afraid of anything that would get them in the big, dark room......seriously, this does work.....and it works pretty quickly too.....
tried it twice......PERFECTO!! And it stays warm inside too.....
