It sounds like an infection to me. I could be wrong, but Muffin had an eye infection when she was just a puppy and I took her to the doctor and they gave me some kind of drops. Forgive my memory. It's been too long ago. They may have been some kind of antibiotic drops.
I urge you to take your baby to the doctor ASAP. Don't mess around with their vision.
