I am of the belief that as the current mommy, YOU call the shots. If you want him to go to a home where one person is at home, then that is just what you should be looking for. At the end of the day, you need to feel comfortable knowing that you placed your little guy in a home where he will be taken care of to the extent that you take care of him.

That being said...when I think of what a utility room is, it sounds like a place where there are tools, brooms/mops and creepy crawlies are abundant. But this may not be the case at all. Maybe she has it, or will have it, decked out to be the perfect puppy palace. I know that when I get my little guy or girl, he or she (or both????) will be kept in our "storage room". But I will completely have it puppy ready. There will be nothing in there but toys, food/water, pee pads, and more toys. The door will be kept open at all times and I will put a gate up. The point I'm trying to make, is that maybe it didnt occur to her that she needed to be more specific.

This is your call. I think there are lots of homes out there that has at least one person staying home...just keep looking and dont settle! One thing to keep in mind though, is that just because mommy-to-be stays home now, it doesnt mean that she (or he) will be doing that forever.

Good luck!
