I don't know if it is the same for Yorkies since Lucy's ears were already standing when I got her but for my German Shepherds I was told not to massage their ears when they were young because it can affect the cartilage and the ear standing. I played with the inside of their ears but I didn't massage the actual ear until they were grown and their ears were up for good.
Personally, I love floppy ears!
