I don't know. Mine have always played, played and played. They never wanted to stop till they dropped. But I suppose some just aren't toy-oriented. Mine have always preferred me to get on the floor at their level to play. I could only bring up some possible ideas:
His balls should be squeaky balls and small enough and soft enough for him to pick up with his small mouth.
Mine also likes long toys we can play tug of war with, although she doesn't tug very hard!
Just about any small squeaky toy. Seems to prefer plush toys to vinyl, except for balls, but she even has some soft plush sqeaky balls.
