I found that so frustrating as I was looking for a Yorkie. I wanted to find an older Yorkie to adopt! The only older Yorkies I could find were 14 hours away, except for one...I fell in love with a 9 year old Yorkie at a local Humane Society and during the adoption process we discovered she had a brain tumor. Heartbroken, we weren't able to adopt her because we were afraid that we couldn't afford the treatment for such a serious health problem. Even though I only spent an hour with her, I think I cried everyday for over a week about her because I was so worried she wouldn't find a good home. I finally was able to check the Humane Society's website the other day and was glad to find that she has a home now!
