I'm 24 and have lived (on my own) with my fiance for 5 years now.
It's a balancing act to be able to budget, save, and completely take care of your own place -- but it's really rewarding and fun to be out there on your own.
I've stumbled and made a LOT of mistakes financially speaking when it comes to judging what I could afford and what I took on, so I would definitely try to really set a realistic budget for what you can afford and still have enough left over to be content and with some set aside also.
I'm doing much better now, but it took me 5 years to figure it out
