I just turned 25 on the 3rd. I moved out of my mom's when I went to college 3 hours away when I was 18. I lived in the dorm for 2 years but that doesn't really count I don't think. Since then I have lived with my best friend (she lived down the hall from me in the dorm!). In my last year of college, we lived in a 4 bedroom apartment with 2 other girls which we HATED! So we moved into a 2 bedroom condo together in the college town and worked for a law firm. THEN we decided to go to grad school in Texas so we took one of the old roommates with us (thinking that it was the 4th girl that had made that whole situation sour... ). While living in a 3 bedroom apartment in Fort Worth we decided that the 3rd girl was definitely part of the original problem.. LOL! So Courtney and I missed our families and Mississippi, so we FINALLY got it together and moved back home and got a rental house 10 minutes from my mom and about 15 from her mom. Its really the best of both worlds. A few things to remember when moving out on your own... 1) you had better like your job because you cannot just get mad one day and quit, because you will have bills to pay... 2) always be prepared for unplanned expenses, they will happen at the WORST possible time and 3) make sure if you have a roommate that ya'll have similar philosophies on things like paying bills on time (one girl decided that she could pay her part of the cable at the end of the month because they wouldn't cut it off til it was a couple of months late..) and having company over (strange friends pulling the fire alarm @ 3 in the morning will really tick you off).
