I moved out at 18 but the situation was a bit different, I had a child and that made it so much more harder. My sister in law is 22 going on 23 and she lives at home. sometimes she complains about living at home, needing more freedom, less complaining from her mom etc. She is in college now and working. I will give you the same advice I give her...stay at home until you are done with school and get your career started. Living in NYC is expensive! If you are lucky you can find a 1 bedroom apartment for 900 a month, which doesnt include utilities and clothes, food etc. It is NOT easy but can be done. I try to explain to her that the reason why her mom does what she does is because she loves her and worries about her. I just think that if you have your parents help you should take it and finish school. Once thats done then find your place, why add the stress of bills etc to the stress school brings. whatever you choose to do I wish you the best
