Bloodwork isn't usually done first for urine problems, urinalysis is.
Only you will be able to decide if he is going to much, too often, weird places because you know him. If he is peeing a normal or almost normal amount every 1/2 hour or hour and is over 5 or 6 months he might need to be checked. If he is peeing small spots then it could be marking. Ellie can go on a walk and she is still marking when we get back. They only go little bits at a time for marking and store the rest. Is he going in unusual places also?
