I have read numerous places that it is better to feed a dog high quality dry food rather than canned food for numerous reasons. One of course is cleaner teeth with the dry food. Also, canned food can be up to 45% water or more. I have learned that with my puppies, unless its another health problem their poop is directly changed by the amound of food/water intake. Specifically, if they don't have enough water or too much water it makes the poop either dry or wet.
