I guess what bothers me is that the YT standard does focus too much on color. I see some beautiful silver blue Yorkies and to me they are perfectly acceptable but not according to the standard. I did not start this post to get anyone upset but just to find out what the general opinion is among show breeders about dying dogs. I guess it is o.k. if you think you have a sound dog. LOL
I understand what you were asking Dying a dog is wrong but the fact is it's done and will be done. But again that's very minor compared to what else is brought in the ring aka bad structure, bad toplines, bad rears ect....the point I tried to make is dying is not as deterimental to the breed as what I've brought to this thread. Dying will be done as it has been for a long time not only in yorkies but other breeds. If dying a dog was the worse thing being brought in the ring then we'd have a good topic persay....Health and other major faults should be addressed more so than dying the coat.
