Bella also has very thin hair, it is very easy to maintain and is silky. I've been thinking about giving her a puppy cut and leaving her face and head longer too but have the same worry as you do. I really don't think her hair is breaking I think it is just how it is, I hope it does thicken up some as she gets older. I keep holding on to this quote about their coats in the sticky post of the general forum
