the airline has certain tem reqquirements that must be meet on both ends of the travel. Contrary to popular belief, not all cargo is teemp controlled, plus, many times they have to sit on the tarmac waiting to be loaded. That said, Continental is the best for flying your pet in cargo. The cargo is temp controlled plus they have "pet service' where your puppy is taken to the plane by truck instead of the luggage cart. It is the last loaded on and the first off loaded. Nothwest takes animals in cargo down to 10 degrees. Now I wouldn't want a puppy of mine in that cold. so just becaise they do ship sometimes to very low temps, it doesn't mean you should. i would go with the stewardess that flys puppies in cabin on the side.
