It is a very sweet thing for you boyfriend to buy you a Yorkie, because they make great companions, but only if you know something about buying them... You have to do a lot of research, and you should always make sure that the sire and dam (or Fur Mommy & Daddy, I hate calling them Sire & Dam
sounds cold) are on the premises so that you can view them and check the other dogs the breeder has to make sure they all look healthy and well taken care of...
I visited my breeder 4 times before I took my baby home... I loved her from the moment I saw her, but I wanted to make sure she was treated right, and of course I saw her fur Mommy & Daddy...
Plus, anytime you get a dog, you should get a guarantee, and a paper from the vet that says they have a clean bill of health and up to date on shots, THEN you should also take the dog to your vet & make sure the dog is still healthy... cause you never know...
