So far, Sophie really loves our kids. She gets SO excited when she sees them, especially when my 9 yr. old comes home from school! You'd think she had been neglected all day the way she jumps on him and gives so many kisses!
Our neighbors Yorkie also LOVES kids. They have three sons and this dog is definitely one of the "boys" with them (although she is a girl....a bit of a tom boy I guess - NO bows for her hair!!) LOL!
Anyhow, I really think it is all in what the dog is used to. So, my advice is that if you know you will be having kids in the future, it is really important to make sure your dog is around kids NOW.
Maybe there are some neighbors who can help with this...I'm sure there are no shortage of kids who would love to "play" (with strict supervision of course) with your puppy on a fairly regular basis.
