When Mojo and Byron got neutered (at 9:00 in the morning) They hadn;t ate since 6:00 of the day before (i left water available until a little later)and only ate again around 5:00 of the surgery day. My chihuahua was given some treats by my little brother and was vomiting a bit...but later that they both ate normaly. I guess some dogs may have a problem eating before the recomended time and that is what they (vet) try to avoid.
And thinking about it, they only missed 1 meal (they only eat 2 times a day)
