Confining with dog gates to a smaller area (I use kitchen/living room, which does not have carpet like the other rooms in my house) and taking out every hour worked well for me and my Momoko, but it took till she was almost a year old to get trained well. Yorkies take notoriously long to potty train and they have little bladders so they will never be able to hold it very well, especially when they are little pups. My momoko used to pee everywhere all the time I was constantly cleanig up pee pee on the floors and rugs until she was about 7 months old.
