Yes neutering should help - BUT - get Bellybands just incase.

I had a male rescue once he was 7 yrs old, not neutered and marked all the time. I got him a few bellybands and a few packages of always maxi pads from costco - Solved! He still marked, but the pads collected the pee. I had to use about 3 to 4 pads a day. I only fostered him for 2 weeks. Towards the end he was marking less and less (still not neutered). It was funny seeing him try to mark with the belly band on. Then he would go back and smell for his pee, but it wasn't there, I think that's why he was doing it less and less.

When using belly bands though, he shouldn't sit in it all the time. When I was home and playing and relaxing I took off the belly band so he could air out. Also when he slept I took off the belly band. You don't want to cause a rash or discomfort.

Best of Luck!
