gosh, I don't understand it either. The more I learn in vet school, the more it confirms to me that dogs were meant to eat a raw diet and definitely not grain-filled kibble. So I just can't understand how more vets don't see how great a high-protein, grain-free diet is (esp. raw). However, I personally do not recommend grain-free kibble as a sole diet. I think it's an unnatural diet for a dog - they need a high protein, grain-free MOIST diet...so I always recommend raw or canned over kibble. I once tried the grain-free kibble with my cats several months ago and they both got diarrhea. Cats, even more so than dogs, depend so much on the moisture in their food.
