I heard some smell also...but the one I bought was simple solutions I believe and it had no smell..and after like 2 days of using it Maximus was like a peeing maniac....and he came to collect a treat every time..lol, he would just come over even when I didn't see him pee..but the poop took AWHILE!!!!..I think it was easier because I have hardwood floors..so the pad is very clear, he has a hard time on carpets....at my inlaws he was like a peeing machine....lol..they have little area rugs everywhere and he thought it was wee wee pad heaven...lol
