My nephew will be leaving next month for his 2nd tour in Iraq. He spent over a year in the heart of the fighting in Baghdad - he is a Bradley Tank gunner and commander. He has been training in Germany for a year for something he can't tell us about, nor can he say where he will be, but it will be bad. We are all so proud of him. He is only 21. I was raised in the military, saw my Dad go to war in Korea and leave on a moments notice when there were uprisings in Beirut, and have lost family because of wars, so i know how scared all the families of our men and women who are putting their lives on the line for our freedom are. Our soldiers are living in horrid conditions fighting for their lives while we sit here with our feet up, watching tv, sipping on something good. It is because of them that we can enjoy our freedom. They deserve more ThankYou's and Respect than they will ever receive. I think the care packages and letters are a wonderful idea. There are some troops that have no family to send them reminders that they are appreciated. A group of retired NYC Firemen that I used to work with gets names and addresses of soldiers and sends them boxes. Sorry, I get carried away when it comes to war.
