Carter's cut off time for water and food was 9 PM and I had to drop him off between 8 and 8:30. I picked him up that afternoon at 3 PM. When we got home, I put his food and water down for him.

He did drink more water than usual during the first 24 hours after his return home. I think it was probably the anesthesia and intubation that was the root cause.
