I used to have a Netherland Dwarf and he lived for at least 10 years or so.

Don't get a male! This one was a boy and when he lived indoors he used to SPRAY EVERYTHING.. the walls, curtains, stuffed animals, etc. He was eventually moved into a nice outdoor hutch.
