I leave out pads when I have to leave Gus alone for a long period of time. He was first trained to go on the pad, then later when he was older, he went outside. Now that he's getting older he really wont use them. He will sometimes pee on the pad, but he'll hold in poo till someone gets home. And when I open the door he runs out to go. When he was younger he used them all the time. Has your baby always gone outside? I don't think he will know what to do if he's used to going outside. You are going to have to train him so he will know it's ok to go inside the house on a pad.
