Cry My Yorkie potties in his bed! Please help!

I have a 1 year old male Yorkie that won't quit going potty in his bed/crate! When we first got him (around 7 weeks), we trained him to go on the pee pads, then gradually moved him to going outside. He has done pretty well, with some accidents every now and then, but consistently pees and poops in his bed (which is in his crate) every single night! We don't let him eat or drink past 8 pm or so. We let him out right before we go to bed, around 10 pm, and then he goes out again as soon as we get up in the morning, around 7 am. And every morning, there is a mess in the bed! My husband is fed up, and says that if our baby continues on this track, he's going to sell him. (Because the crates are in the living room and it stinks up the whole house.)

We also have a 2.5 year old female Yorkie that was trained the exact same way, and she hasn't pottied in her crate since she was a tiny baby. What have we done wrong with this one? What can we do to stop this behavior? Please help and thanks in advance!
