If your a registered voter or have a drivers license, then your name goes into a computer and then names are just randomly selected. On the card you get in the mail it tells you exactly what time to call and then your told what day to show up. Quite a few people show up at the same time and then the process of interviewing and selecting for jury duty starts. If they end up with enough selected people before you have had your turn, they tell everyone else they can leave. I sat all morning once, they had us break for lunch, then I sat another couple of hours. I never had my turn before the rest of us were let go. That day Bo Derick was there with her late husband John.
