AKC is an older, more well known and respected registry. The confirmation shows that you see on TV are AKC sponsored.
CKC is a different registry. Their rules are not as strict and you have alot of unethical puppy millers and people who have been in trouble w/ AKC that register their dogs there and continue to breed.
That is NOT to say that CKC dogs are any lesser the pooch.

You will have good and bad breeders in either registry. You just have to pay close attention to the breeder you are interested in and make sure they are doing things by the book.

Well now there are two ckc, one is continetal kennel club, and I am hoping that is who your speaking of.. there is also a ckc which is canadaian kennel club.. as reputable as the akc..
In fact it is easier to have a dog from another country registered with akc and much harder with ckc the canadian kennel club..
