I got Ellie four hours after her spay AND liver biopsy (and could've picked her up 2 and 1/2 hours after). I stayed up all night with her but didn't have to. There is no way I'd be leaving them there if there is nobody in there the whole time. What if one is screaming in pain? What if something opens up? And with the girl they may leave the IV in. An IV in an dog unsupervised....no. Besides, the anesthesia hasn't worn all the way off by then. There is nobody there to watch. It would be fine if someone was there and awake the whole time. If they aren't supervised they might as well be home... That is your decision though.
