I have a friend who lives in Canada; she was a groomer. She told me that to find a good groomer, you have to interview her. Ask her questions about how much experience she/he has and in what breed. My friend also said that it is good to stick with the same groomer if she/he does a good job, not just because of the good cut but #1 your furbaby will be more familiar with her/him and more relax during the cut, #2 the groomer might be able to notice anything abnormal with your furbaby since she/he is the only person having so much close contacts, she/he might be able to tell anything that is abnormal, eg. skin problem, etc.
My friend also said that a groomer must have passion, she said those with about 2 to 3 years of experience have more passion in it (I am not sure if it is true but that's what she told me). Like the groomer who did Kimchee's first hair cut, she had over 10 years of experience. I felt that she did not have any passion in it; she treats hair cut just like her career. When she was giving Kimchee some positive comment, I can hear no passion and feeling in her comment. |
