My son's been working for KBR, in Tikrit, Iraq, since April 2007. He's teaching carpentry to the locals. He worked there (Baghdad and Mosul) for a year (2004). It's very hard, but he always tells me it can be just as dangerous here. His 33rd birthday is on the 17th and it will be the first time in his life that he's more than two hours away from me. Hubby and I are leaving tonight to spend the weekend with his wife and two daughters (about two hours away).
