Poor baby.........Gracie had 2 teeth and a rear dew claw removed as well when she got spayed and she was starved as well..........
I'm sure licking on an ice cube would do no harm if he's still restless in the middle of the night.
I think I gave gracie about a tablespoon of wet food and she was still starving, I let her lick an ice cube, and snuggled up next to her to keep her warm.......after several hours she got sleepy and I put many warm blankets in her crate next to me so when she woke up I could watch her void and make sure urine was normal.
The next morning, I let her eat more and drink what she wanted, but kept a close watch on urine and stool to make sure "all the parts were functional"
She did not lick at her abdominal incision, but did lick at the dew claw dressing for severral days
. I tried to keep her occupied with something else. You can apply bitter apple spray around the incision if the licking continues.
