This testing has nothing to do with Ellie's liver really. It is because of her urination problems (see Urinations Problems Update). Her symptoms match hyperthyroidism (excessive urination, skinny, hyper, nervous, BIG appetite...) but it is very rare in dogs. We just want to make sure.
The ultrasound would be done if the thyroid and urine tests come back normal. The u/s is not for her liver (we would have to go to a specialist and pay lots of money for something that may or may not be accurate for detecting shunts...so we would do it at her regular vets...they can check for bladder problems there). I thought $180 sounded good.

I wonder if they know they are undercharging.
