Gosh, If you plan on breeding you need to do a lot of homework first.. and to answer your question you should wait until at LEAST the second heat cycle. First heat cycle should begin between 6 months and 1 year, There are four stages, which are:
Proestrus: bleeding
Estrus: will accept a male
Metestrus and anestrus: ovarian activity, this is when false pregnancy can occur, Which seems to happen a lot in yorkies.
