He called the manager and said Riley had cried/barked for the past two days when I leave. I really don't understand why hes complaining now, seeing how Riley has gotten alot better about barking. Anyway, they said if he complains again I either have to get rid of Riley or move. So what will help his barking. I have to have ideas that really dont involve me being home because he doesnt bark when I'm home. |
Don't know if getting a second dog is an option or not, but if it is, I would recommend it. My calm therapy Bichon, Cosmo, who has wonderful manners, was a terror when he was a pup. He belonged to my son and barked all the while Trent was gone and since Trent worked nights, it was a big problem. There were complaints and Trent had to do something. He tried everything he could think of, with no success. I also worked at the time, but had my Bichon, Lacy, so Cosmo came to live with me and Lacy. Lacy was a rare one who never had separation anxiety. I ran the video camera every day for a month or so to see how Cosmo acted when I was gone. He was quiet, only barked when Lacy did or they saw something outside, and then stopped. I checked off and on for the first six months or so Cosmo was with me and he got along fine. He was happy being with Lacy. Getting a second dog is a fun option if you can do it!
