Default Shipping a dog from the U.S. to Canada ...

Hi Everyone,

I spent a bit of time reading through the forum "Traveling with Yorkies" to see if I could find recommendations and pricing for airlines that would be best to use for shipping an adult Yorkie from the U.S. to Canada ...

Here are some questions I have:

a) What is the general price range of flying a dog? I read online that there is usually a $50 to $100 fee for bringing your dog with you as you travel and placing them under your seat. I'm wondering about pricing for just flying a dog to one destination.

b) What are the general conditions for shipping pets? I've never done this before and would like to know how pets are treated by airlines?

c) Do any YT members recommend certain airlines above any others in regards to the way they treat pets and the comfort level of their trip.

d) I am familiar with U.S./Canada paperwork for bringing a dog over the border. Are there any extra regulations in regards to shipping your pet? What type of kennel is recommended?

I look forward to learning from everyone's incredible wealth of knowledge.

Thanks,

Jamie
